hey everyone, I am going to be a senior in highschool this year, and am really starting to narrow down my options of where I want to go to college. Right now it is between grand valley, michigan state, saginaw state, and central michigan.
I was hoping that this forum would help me make that decision.
I haven't personally been to gvsu, but i hear the campus is amazing. i also know that you guys have amazing sports (partly from what i read here, and partly from what i heard elsewhere). Are there a lot of parties up at grand valley? I don't want to join a frat, but I like to party a lot. Any information would be great! thanks!

Hey Bobbybyrd!
Hopefully I can answer some of your questions...
First off, yes the campus is amazing very beautiful (however it can get cold in the winter). There is a party every week at gvsu, you just have to know where to look. If you don't get out there and look for a party, then you aren't going to find one.
On football days it is a little bit easier (just get drunk and tailgate in the parking lot). We also have this thing called Responsible Boy, who will pick you up if you are wasted. You should plan ahead though because there usual waiting time is about 2-3 hours.
If you plan to stay up at grand valley during the summer, you will have to look VERY hard for parties, because everyone goes home during the summer vacation.
Any other questions, just ask.

hey admin thanks for answering my questions!! It is sweet that you guys can just tailgate in the parking lot before games. Dont cops stop you to check your id? Also I am going home during the summer too, so i don't have to worry about that.

If you look like you know what you are doing, and don't quickly walk away from them and dont look suspicious, then they wont care what you are doing. Just act cool and don't do anything tooo stupid.

What about at a regular party? Do they give you an mip very easily, or do they just tell you to walk home?

Cops at Gvsu are pretty no tolerence, which sucks a lot. Because there is an academy here, these cops are anxious to prove themselves, and will give out as many mips as they can. Last year a huge party was broken up, and i think a total of about 50? mips were given out.
Nights like that suck. but i wouldn't worry. Even if you do get an Mip, it is a small fine and they just slap you on the wrist. They won't kick you out of school or anything!!
